Both Hobomock and Furnace ponds will be treated on Friday, June 12, 2026 per a town announcement. While the treatments are different, both are for the purposes of controlling the growth of invasive aquatic plants or algae that can form harmful blooms. Residents are advised on the following purposes to avoid:
Hobomock Pond
- Drinking and cooking until 6/13/26
- Boating, fishing, and swimming until 6/13/26
- Watering of livestock until 6/13/26
- Irrigation until 8/13/26
Furnace Pond
- Drinking and cooking until 6/17/26
- Boating, fishing, and swimming until 6/13/26
- Watering of livestock until 6/15/26
- Irrigation until 6/18/26
