# Mattakeesett Garden Club Makes Apple Picking Easy as Pie

This fall, save yourself a trip to the orchard and head on down to the Pembroke Farmers Market on Oct. 3 where you can select from eight different varieties of apples fresh from Westward Orchards in Harvard, MA. Brought to you by the Mattakeesett Garden Club, the apples will be sold in "very reasonably priced" five-pound bags, said MGC member Renee Spring, who is helping to bring the 800 pounds of fruit to Pembroke. A 1956 bright red Chevy Truck (from Red Truck Rental) will be decorated with pumpkins, corn stalks, and hay bales and will serve as a perfect backdrop for fun family photos. The farmer's market is held on the Pembroke Town Green from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
