The town of Pembroke hosts one hazardous waste day each spring. Pembroke is a member of the South Shore Recycling Cooperative which allows residents to attend hazardous waste collection events in surrounding towns with proof of Pembroke residency. These events are free for residents utilizing this option in surrounding towns. Thanks to the South Shore Recycling Cooperative there are opportunities to dispose of hazardous waste throughout the year in nearby member towns.

On June 6, 2026 residents of Pembroke, Kingston, and Duxbury are invited to attend the Hazardous Household Waste collection day at the Kingston DPW. To register and review acceptable items, please visit https://ssrcoop.info/household-hazardous-waste-collections/
