This Tuesday September 1 is primary day in Massachusetts. While many races are uncontested, there are a few stand out races that voters will decide ahead of the midterm elections in November.
At the top of the Republican primary ballot are two hopefuls for the office of Governor, Mike Minogue and Brian Shortsleeve. Kari Della MacRae is running unopposed for Senator in General Court. Ken Sweezey is running for Representative in the sixth Plymouth District (Pembroke precincts 1, 2, 4, and 5), and in precinct 3 the candidate is Eric J. Meschino, in the twelfth Plymouth District. County Commissioner has three candidates running for one seat.
On the Democratic ticket, one of the more visible contests is between Ed Markey and Seth Moulton for U.S Senator representing Massachusetts. Maura Healy is running unopposed on the Democratic ballot for the office of Governor. The race for Representative has Bill Keating facing off against Craig Swallow, and for Senator in General Court, Dylan Fernandes is running unopposed. Representative in General Court for the twelfth Plymouth District (Pembroke precinct 3) is Kathleen LaNatra, and in the sixth Plymouth District (Pembroke precincts 1, 2, 4, and 5) the candidate is Jessica Marie Rushing.
