During the week of Friday, July 24, through Friday, July 31, 2026, the Pembroke Police Department responded to a wide variety of calls for service, including motor vehicle crashes, fraud investigations, traffic enforcement, vandalism, suspicious activity, and animal complaints. The following highlights are based on the department's weekly dispatch log.
Fraud Investigations Continue
Officers prepared reports for four separate fraud investigations during the reporting period. Incidents were reported on Town Farm Road, Center Street, and Claremont Road, while another complaint on Center Hill Road was determined to be a civil matter after investigation.
Multiple Motor Vehicle Crashes
Police investigated several reportable crashes on Valley Street, Oak Street (two separate crashes), School Street, Church Street, Plain Street at Valley Street, and Mattakeesett Street. Two hit-and-run investigations were opened on Oak Street and Church Street, while another hit-and-run crash was investigated on Mattakeesett Street.
Traffic Enforcement
Officers issued four citations and four verbal warnings during the week.
Citations: Schoosett Street at Washington Street; Oak Street at Mayflower Road; Oak Street at Pilgrim Road; Oak Street at Pembroke Woods Drive; Oak Street at Church Street.
Verbal Warnings: Washington Street at Old Washington Street; Oak Street at Church Street; Pleasant Street; Barker Street.
Police also investigated several reports of erratic operation on Phillips Road, Center Street at Mattakeesett Street, Church Street and Washington Street.
Radar Enforcement
Radar assignments were conducted on Mattakeesett Street, Water Street, and Old Washington Street. A speeding complaint was also logged on Valley Street.
Vandalism and Property Crimes
Police investigated vandalism on Glenwood Road, commercial vandalism on Washington Street, a reported motor vehicle theft on Center Street, and a shoplifting complaint on Church Street that was later determined to be unfounded.
Animal Control
Animal Control Officers responded to complaints on Old Washington Street, Wampatuck Street, Warren Terrace and Oak Street, along with animal bite investigations on Center Street and Elm Street.
Suspicious Activity
Police investigated suspicious activity on West Elm Street, Furnace Colony Drive, Mattakeesett Street, Belle Road, Washington Street, Church Street and Edgewater Drive. Some incidents resulted in reports while others were unfounded or area searches were negative.
Recreational Vehicle Complaint
A recreational vehicle complaint was investigated on Birch Street.
Disturbances and Noise Complaints
Police restored the peace during a noise complaint on Lake Avenue and investigated disturbances on Church Street and Mattakeesett Street.
Other Notable Calls
Other calls included missing property on Mattakeesett Street, commercial and residential alarms, a fire incident on Mattakeesett Street, downed utility wires on Foster Avenue, disabled motor vehicles on Schoosett Street, Barker Street and Gates Lane, parking complaints on Reservoir Road, and numerous 911 hang-up, silent, abandoned and wrong-number calls.
