On a beautiful Saturday morning the Pembroke Farmers Market kicked off its second week of local fare to the sound of an acoustic guitar played by local musician Ric Allendorf.
Located at the Pembroke Community Center on Center Street every other Saturday until September 26, the market features friendly, local artists - selling fresh baked goods and produce, craft business goods, and hosting activities for the kids. There was a face painting booth and the local Girl Scout Troop set up an arts and crafts table.

Meghan Watts, the President of the Pembroke Farmers Market board, explained that she and a small group of friends started the market in 2023 - 2024. She noted that it is a community-based event run by Pembroke residents and is not affiliated with the town.
A wide variety of vendors were present including, Christina's Restaurant, selling fresh ice cold lemonade and calzones, while Le Petite Cuisine and Shibs Cookie Studio were offering home baked cookies, muffins and more. Defran Studios and LMP Soapworks offered assorted artwork, soaps and sundries.

The crowd seemed to be enjoying the weather and the music. A truck from Dias & Daughters Farm had more hardy choices with farm fresh beef and pork, chicken, and honey. Lilly Dias said everything they sell is locally sourced. "We have farm fresh chicken from our friends at Rock N Hill Farm in Berkley and honey from Wynn Mill Farm in Rehoboth."
This second week of the Farmers market appeared to be a success, with many families enjoying the day, friendly vendors, and musical entertainment. The Pembroke Farmers Market is a great way to spend a Saturday morning.
The Pembroke Farmers Market is open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every second and fourth Saturday, running through September 26.
